ABELL APARTMENTS

I have been living in this residence for 1.5 years. The initial few months were tolerable. Nevertheless, this past year has been an issue after issue. The initial winter, the heating system was completely out of commission for a few weeks. The only s I have been living in this residence for 1.5 years. The initial few months were tolerable. Nevertheless, this past year has been an issue after issue. The initial winter, the heating system was completely out of commission for a few weeks. The only solution was a tiny space heater that the apartment complex supplied. After that, a water pipe burst, cutting off water to the apartment for two weeks and displacing all the tenants. Then, there was another water pipe burst a few months back, causing flooding through five floors of the building. There is visible damage to my floor, ceiling and walls from the water. There are unsightly stains on the walls. Management has not attempted to fix the damage or provide a rent-credit. They also promised to replace my refrigerator at the start of the year, yet there has been no follow up despite repeated emails. The maintenance is inadequate as well. On multiple occasions, they have entered my apartment without leaving a note that they were there. One time they left my door completely open after they left. My apartment was left unlocked and open for almost 12 hours while I was away at work. In addition, they would leave the bathroom in an unclean state whenever they entered and left several hoses and pipes on the floor with no explanation. Other tenants have reported having mold growing in their ceilings. The only redeeming quality of this apartment is the rent and its proximity to the hospital. Lived here a handful of years and loved it overall Youre right downtown so close to everything It doesnt have the bells and whistles of some of the other places but its a historic cool old building with huge windows and high ceilings
