Yes its an older building and is outdated and some floors are dark I realize cosmetic renovation is costly Like for instance the appartments could be retrofitted with showers and walktubs instead of great big huge bathtubs The hallways smell old sm Yes its an older building and is outdated and some floors are dark I realize cosmetic renovation is costly Like for instance the appartments could be retrofitted with showers and walktubs instead of great big huge bathtubs The hallways smell old smokey and musty Care has been given on all 16 floors to make sure there are comfortable chairs by the elevators So residents can sit while while waiting for one of two elevators which some times does take a while to get to your floor But is a quick trip going down On each waiting area by the elevators sits 1 or 2 comfortable chairs wall hangings and decorations keep each floor from being to generic and has a home like feel I have been impressed and I have to give credit to the staff They do really care about the residents and the care given to residents at this location is 1st class The common areas are neat and clean The outside sitting areas are very nice and pleasant Im very happy my mom is a resident at the UAW facility more ... hide ...

UAW does offer very affordable apartments along with a cafeteria and laundry facilities Personally I would like to stipulate it is not assisted living for our precious elderly family and friends I will say they do seem to do the best they can in taki UAW does offer very affordable apartments along with a cafeteria and laundry facilities Personally I would like to stipulate it is not assisted living for our precious elderly family and friends I will say they do seem to do the best they can in taking care of their elderly tenants but as I understand this is not exactly part of their job qualifications It seems at least one of the elevators is almost always out of service which is of great concern for those who have difficulty walking and are unable to use the stairs On the upside for retirees looking for affordability and cozy accommodations it is pretty ideal After all this was the original intent of the UAW once again as I understand it to be more ... hide ...
