This review is specifically rated for the service Ive received and performance Ive witnessed from Yvonne Ramos the current property manager at 42 West I moved here roughly 3 years ago and my first year was trying to say the least I wont go into speThis review is specifically rated for the service Ive received and performance Ive witnessed from Yvonne Ramos the current property manager at 42 West I moved here roughly 3 years ago and my first year was trying to say the least I wont go into specifics but I agree with other reviewers comments about the noise within units and quality of paint cabinets etcnnBut BACK to Yvonne and team Once Yvonne arrived I immediately noticed a shift in the overall feeling of community at this property and my satisfaction as a resident Yvonne has been one of the best property managers Ive ever witnessed she is extremely friendly courteous polite timely responsive and thorough I know exactly what to expect from her and she has been consistently excellent in customer service in the past few years shes been here In addition to her general pleasant and professional disposition it is clear that she is dedicated to her job and wants to create an excellent community for her residents She has led the way in developing consistent and fun community events pizza nights pool parties breakfast events and a general feeling of festivity yearround Additionally the rest of her management team is also very helpful and polite We are given sufficient notice for all events happening at the complex and they always make sure to send both emails and also leave notices on our doors They also typically post a calendar with happenings around town and at the clubhouse a small but very nice touch for helping to keep the residents in the know Dan the maintenance manager is prompt courteous and thorough with his work and performancennI think Village Green as a company should revisit some of their policies for acquiring poorlyinsulated properties and also how they handle lease renewals for longterm residents as another reviewer mentioned But those items are not the fault or responsibility of the Management Team on property So with that being said Yvonne Ramos Dan and the rest of the team here at 42 West are superb Im so happy to have lived here under their guidancemore ...hide ...

I lived in these apartments from Aug 2017 Sept 2018nnApartment Quality These apartments are beautiful and something as nice in nearby Birmingham or Royal Oak would run you double the price I had a few standard maintenance issues but they were alwaysI lived in these apartments from Aug 2017 Sept 2018nnApartment Quality These apartments are beautiful and something as nice in nearby Birmingham or Royal Oak would run you double the price I had a few standard maintenance issues but they were always super quick to respond Other reviewers mentioned the cheapness of the apartment and the only thing that I experienced was that I removed a command strip and it ripped about 1 foot of paint off the wall but maintenance repaired this and did not charge me for damagennCustomer Service Average experience until early 2018 when Yvonne came in as the property manager Since she started customer service was top notch As an example I locked myself out of my apartment after hours and a maintenance person had to come and let me back in I would have totally understood if they had charged me the lease says 25 fee but they never didnnNoise I could not hear my neighbors for the most part except for when they were talking while walking up the stairs You share a hallway with 5 other units so it wasnt frequent enough to be annoying to me You can also hear traffic from 12 Mile Southfield at night which could be troublesome to light sleepersnnSmoking Smoking is allowed in the units and the hallways smelled very badly of smoke when I first moved in Maintenance did address this and it improved significantly If you are sensitive to smoke I would suggest asking to tour a random hallway while you are visitingnnSurrounding Area Its a great area if you want proximity to Royal Oak Birmingham Detroit I wasnt very familiar with metroDetroit when I moved in and ended up moving away a year later because I wasnt in love with the area I always felt safe in my apartment but always felt very uneasy in the parking lot and surrounding areas though it was always well lit and I never saw anything bad happenmore ...hide ...
