Many times there My friend had to move out of Menorah Plaza due to poor management and care. During my visits, I never saw any staff members who spoke good English or showed any compassion for their residents - they were always rushed and unhelpful. Many times there were issues with the apartment such as no hot water, cold air coming in around the A/C box, and insufficient heat throughout its rooms (especially in the bathroom). Meals consisted of minimal sandwiches, coleslaw, and applesauce - there was no hot meal option nor consideration for special dietary needs.
At one point my friend pulled the emergency cord because she was profusely bleeding and feeling weak; however, staff only told her to rest for the day (her sheets ended up soaked). After taking her to a doctor it was determined that if left alone she could have passed out from blood loss. When she moved out management waited 43 days before informing her that they would be keeping her entire security deposit for painting, new carpets and cleaning services - they claimed she left behind items, neglected to clean properly, ruined walls/carpets so now they wanted money from her. We took pictures of every room while we packed/cleaned during move-out; staff checked it over at this time too.more ...hide ...
