We were informed it had been fully renovated, but that was not the case. Cabinets, toilet, refrigerator, and air conditioning/heating units were refurbished in July 2011, and shortly after we moved in, the 'earthquake' of summer 2011 struck our building. My floor and ceiling moved in opposite directions, making a loud, clashing sound. At that point, I started to observe all the structural damages in my apartment and the entire building, and then the water leaks began. My connection with Adult Protective Services was destroyed, and I experienced other constant harassment on a regular basis. After I tried to complain through the chain of command and sent numerous letters to the Executive Director of the Agency and asked for help from an Assembly person who I had known for a long time, nothing came of it. Finally I was released from their care. Goddard Riverside should be closed down. It is better to have no social service agency than to be subjected to an apathetic and malicious one.
