My wife was offered a job in Binghamton, NY, but we couldn't move out of the apartment since we had just started renting it (only two months before). When I went to talk to the management to negotiate a deal, they lied to me to get me out of the office, saying that an older couple was interested in taking over the lease. I gave them my contact information but they never contacted me. There were no missed calls or emails in the three weeks that followed. Winter is especially bad here since the maintenance takes forever to plow. We won't be staying here after our lease ends. It's important to look around before renting here and only do so if absolutely necessary. The good thing is that it's close to many places and most of the tenants are older, so there isn't much drama. Nonetheless, it's still important to look around. more ... hide ...
