Although she had dementia and other illnesses, I never anticipated her to only survive three months after being placed here. I was no longer able to care for her on my own. The rooms were not kept clean, and most of the staff lacked empathy and compassion. My mom fell numerous times and they did not want to put an alarm in place to alert them when she was trying to get up to use the restroom. She was not accustomed to wearing diapers. They preferred to just give the patients medication so that they would stay in bed. My mom contracted a UTI, refused to eat, and refused dialysis since she disliked the facility and the treatment she was receiving. There was one nurse she liked and a few CNAs. The food was not suitable for seniors. Up to this moment, almost three months later, no one has contacted me to offer their condolences for my mother's passing. During hospice, they were unwilling to give her the pain medication as recommended since they claimed she wasn't in pain. Even though she could no longer communicate this, it was obvious that she was not comfortable. I would suggest looking elsewhere for a place to take your family. These reviews must not be for the long-term care because my mom was on the east wing.more ...hide ...
