I paid my rent on time every month yet was treated like an 18-year-old college student. Older tenants were not held to the same standards regarding the use of the pool or courtyard. When I turned in my keys early, I did a follow-up walkthrough to make sure I wasn't being charged for any missed cleaning. The leasing coordinator said the apartment was in great condition. However, I later received photos and charges from the third property manager in two years, which included the stove and oven being scratched. I had never been late on a payment or received complaints while living there. The materials of the apartment were inexpensive, but the living space was nice. Multiple property managers and leasing agents were employed in a short timeframe. As a young professional, I felt that Melissa, the property manager, applied the rules to me more strictly than to her friends, who were granted special privileges. For instance, I heard one of them mention bringing a speaker to the pool, something that is not allowed, and saying, "I'll just text Melissa, she lets me do whatever I want." Additionally, wristbands are needed to access the amenities, and for visitors, a guest wristband. I understand why this system is in place, but it makes it hard to have guests on weekends, as the office is closed then and the guest wristbands are only valid for 24 hours.
