The head of maintenance, JR, is knowledgeable about all aspects of the building and is a motivated person. He carries out preventive maintenance when everything is running well. We are proud to call Deerfield Commons our home. It is located close to the YMCA, Tippecanoe Mall (SIMONS MALL), and the indoor aquatic center, making it convenient and safe to shop and swim all year round. My newborn and I resided at their South Street location, where the windows did not close properly, leaving the house extremely cold. My newborn and I resided at their South Street location, where the windows did not close properly, leaving the house extremely cold. We had to purchase two space heaters just to be able to survive the winter. When we looked at the apartment the woman told us that maintenance would come to fix the windows, but when they did arrive it was said that the building had to remain in its historic state and so the windows couldn't be adjusted. There was a walk-in closet with a window that had a hole in it which was eventually fixed, but it took a few weeks. In addition, there were countless stink bugs in that room, so I did not use it at all. When I chose to move out early they charged me a full year's lease rather than the usual early termination fee, which, while legal, is not right in my opinion. I would not recommend anyone living under this management. more ...
