For the past 5 years, I have been living in building #3 and I never thought I would experience something like this. On June 29th, 2018, a man passed away in his apartment on the first floor and his body wasn't removed until July 2nd. On June 29th, 2018, a man passed away in his apartment on the first floor and his body wasn't removed until July 2nd. He didn't use air conditioning so the heat caused his body to decompose quickly which left an unbearable odor that lasted for 4 days. Even today (July 6th, 2018), you can still smell the rotting human flesh around the building. The manager of the building (Cheryl) tried to fix this problem by giving out air fresheners but it was not enough to mask that smell. Now she is on vacation for a week and Darlene Coates (the community manager) has not done anything about it or even shown up at all. People are getting sick from this stench, unable to eat food in their apartments or sleep peacefully due to it being present in their hallways and apartments as well. We need help but we fear retaliation from Edgewood Management (headquartered in Bethesda, MD?) and CHAI if we raise our voices too loud about it; please someone out there help us! Do not be fooled by how nice Weinberg Village looks because there are many more issues than just this one which will be revealed soon enough- watch out for more of Weinberg Village's problems! more ... hide ...
