We had an appointment to sign the lease and get keys at 10 am, yet when we arrived (with all possessions loaded into the car), they said my client couldn't move in until the following week. They were extremely hesitant to explain, just saying it was a maintenance issue (they later confessed it was because they hadn't finished the paperwork on time). After trying to convince them that this was totally unacceptable, they said we could sign the lease and get keys at 1 PM. It wasn't until 1:30 that they informed us we needed to present more documentation and get it notarized. They said "Once you return from the bank I'll submit the documents and we should get the go-ahead within 15 minutes." We came back from the bank at 3:30, and it wasn't until 5:20 that we were able to begin signing the lease. I'm upset that they treat people this way and then pretend they "rescued the day" for allowing us to move in on the day we were supposed to. I assist a lot of section 8 clients and I will make certain they stay far away from this place. more ... hide ...

When I first moved into this apartment it was pitched to me that these apartments were secure and that guests would use a buzzer system on the front door in order to be let into the locked building Given time I would learn that the buzzer system is a When I first moved into this apartment it was pitched to me that these apartments were secure and that guests would use a buzzer system on the front door in order to be let into the locked building Given time I would learn that the buzzer system is a joke You must have a house phone in order to hear the buzzer in your apartment an extra expense I refuse to endure The other residents of the building have made a habit of jamming the door so that it does not properly close probably because they also wont afford a house phone in order to use the buzzer system I have had my apartment door knocked on by unwanted visitors multiple times since moving in simply because there was no security with the jammed door at the entrance of the building Which I find to be a serious safety concern for myself and my child and a huge nuisancenI was promised by the previous property manager and by maintenance upon signing the lease that the hallways were going to be remodeled in my building This never happened At one time maintenance did repaint the staircase but the paint job is poorly done The carpets havent been replaced in years and hold a significant smell of cat urine drugs and cigarette smoke Walking in and out of my building always leaves me holding my breath and wondering if the smell has attached to my clothesnWhen I first moved in the hot water tank went bad twice It was replaced once and then repaired Each time taking days to restore my hot water Even so I cant take a complete shower without losing hot water because the tank is so small The maintenance team has entered my apartment without my consent or by first notifying me of a time and reason for entrance I know this because I once returned home to my microwave unplugged and moved though my apartment door was lockednnJust this weekend my son and I were sitting on our couch watching a movie when we heard a loud crash When I investigated the noise I saw that the medicine cabinet in the bathroom had fallen off of the wall Maybe due to the fact that it was clearly just stapled together Had my seven year old son been using the sink at the time of the cabinet falling he would have been seriously injured Right now the cabinet sits in my hallway waiting for the quarantine to pass so that maintenance can fix itnnI have had to endure listening to the endless arguments and parties thrown by the other residents of this building and the building to the west of us often lasting until the early hours of morning Their sounds echo in my bedroom when I am trying to sleep like any member of society that works forty hours or more a week It is hardly ever quiet here And it feels unsafe Speaking of unsafe its no wonder I am never at ease in my own home between my car being broken into multiple times the apartment on the second floor that was robbed kids smoking pot on the building stairs and leaving blunt wraps and tobacco on the floor for others to step over not being notified when my apartment is going to be entered into the random knocks on my door by unwanted visitors always finding the front and back doors jammed open viewing drug deals taking place right outside my window in the parking lot the constant smell of old drugs in the hallway failure on the staffs part to follow through with plans for renovation and furniture pieces falling from my wall I cant even list all of my issues because of the word limit for this postnnI find the cost of this apartment to be expensive i pay 850 for a 2bd1bth on the third floor in comparison to its value when considering all that I have just listed When compared to York Creek apartments theres no question that this property is over charging its residents Each York Creek apartment has an outdoor space usually in the form of a deck and the buildings actually have a secure buzzer system You may also own a dog while living at York Creek So how can this complex claim to be affordable housingnnIm left to conclude that I will not resign a lease with Pheasant Ridge at the end of July more ... hide ...
