Other tenants had told me that rent rises every September, although I didn't stay long enough to verify that. Additionally, the manager allows drug users to live there. Horn's depiction of the manager was too charitable. She is a very spiteful individual. The tenants are always gossiping and this is one of the reasons why the "manager" kicks people out with no justification. It usually goes like this: people make up stories about a particular tenant and then the manager will evict them without a valid reason. You usually only have a week to vacate the property. If you're low-income, it can be hard to find another place to live in that time. So you stay past the eviction date, and then the manager files a lawsuit against you, full of lies and inflated damages. Because she is so vengeful, she tries to get "treble damages" - three times the amount of the actual damages, real or imagined. Concerning the landlord and her husband, they should be evicted from Kalispell. I strongly suggest looking for a different place to rent, as living at the Fernwell Apartments will be a nightmare. more ... hide ...
