To be frank, I was anxious for him. Would the personnel demonstrate enough open friendliness? Would they be patient enough to converse with him, since he is deaf? Would the food be alright; he is very meticulous when it comes to his tastes. Would he make acquaintances? Would he even accept that everything was perfect! He's been at Sunrise for around six weeks now and he told me last weekend that Sunrise has become his home! He stated the staff treats him like family and is truly concerned about him. He has made several new friends, for the first time in a long time since many of his friends have passed away in the last few years. He sends me pictures of his dinner every night, and I swear, it's like he has a private chef! One of his childhood favorites always appears on his plate every night! Monday, brisket and mashed potatoes. Tuesday, pot roast. Wednesday, prime rib. Thursday, Cheddar cheese omelet with extra crispy bacon and french fries... Every night he has dinner with his new buddies and kid around with the incredible staff, who I can vouch for, really do care about him and treat him like family! I am so thankful! more ... hide ...

Their personnel are attentive, the premises are neat, and they're always ready to answer any queries. We moved my 93-year-old aunt, who had dementia, into this facility and she was looked after most admirably. There were never any doubts about her hygiene, she was always freshly-showered, wearing different garments each day, and she could have her hair washed and styled whenever she wanted. The nurses, carers, kitchen personnel, Ascend Hospice, front desk staff, overnight team, sales team, and management group – all those we communicated with – were incredibly encouraging and very tolerant in handling her condition. Sunrise of Cresskill lifted the burden of worry and guilt from us, and we were sure they would take good care of her. I never felt she was mistreated, in jeopardy, or would cause any harm to herself as they were continually conscious of her activities. The independence to remain in her room if she desired to watch Turner Classics, use her wheelchair to travel from her room to the entertainment area, to the kitchen for a scoop of ice-cream, or just wander around the third floor, granted her the freedom to still feel in charge of her own life while being supervised. She began in Assisted Living, though she could have easily managed Independent Living, and after three years moved to the memory care unit. Though she has made and lost friends and enjoyed countless activities, it is the kindness and caring of the staff that we appreciate most. During the pandemic, this location had one of the best outcomes in all of New Jersey. They adjust their practices as needed, keep families informed and are available to answer any questions. This is an outstanding established community, part of the larger Sunrise network, that knows how to meet the needs of their residents and create positive experiences. more ... hide ...

My parents report that the Sunrise staff are genuinely nice people who make them feel comfortable and that they are welcome members of the community

The physical community is beautiful Paramus is a much better setting than Cresskill If you need a Medicaid setting dont think of Cresskill
