The microwave has sparked twice and stopped working. Everyone in my mother's household has been getting sick due to mold build-up, which the landlord refuses to properly get rid of using chemicals despite knowing about the crack in the foundation that's causing it. For $1000 rent, you can't even breathe safely in her apartment -- there was one morning when water was leaking through the ceiling as well, but instead of helping or informing her neighbor about it like she said she did, the leasing agent lied so that my mother wouldn't tell them either. The fridge is leaking water too; all these issues were already here before or shortly after moving in, yet no action is taken by that office lady who loves evicting people but won't fix anything major or minor (such as replacing an old fridge and microwave).
