Rittenberg Manor is my home now for 4.5 yrs. It is a senior building and the age requirement is 62.The building is about 7 yrs old so its relatively new. We have both an excellent overall manager and building maintenance manager who do a great job !! There are 99 apartments on 4 floors. Apartments are mostly single bedroom and some two bedrooms with some size differences. All bedrooms have a double door closet 57\" by 28\", with an overhead light and shelf above the pole to hanger your clothes on. Each apt has a kitchen with electric stove with an over-stove exhaust fan, light and fire extinguisher, refrigerator/freezer and dishwasher. The kitchen also has ample wooden cabinetry and a coat closet and shelved food closet and linoyan floors. All apartments have a palor with a sliding glass double door that leads to your balcony with an overhead roof. Bathrooms may differ slightly but are relatively spacious with a shelved closet, medicine cabinet, exhaust fan, plenty of lighting, toilet and mine has a bathtub with an adjustable shower, tile floor and \"handicap rails\" in several places should I need them. I dont know if that is true throughout. Between the bedroom and bathroom I have a walk-in 4 by 45\" storage space with an overhead light and a light-weight shelf. Beige carpet throughout the apartment where there is no tile or linoleum. Two separate laundry rooms 2nd & 4th floors 4 washers, 4 dryers each and your credit/debit/ebt. Everything is clean and functional and well maintained. The first floor has the only coin/paper money machine in the building. The first floor has most community areas: mail room for everyone , the office managers where you sign up, the maintenance manager office available 9 to 5 and in emergencies you can call as he lives on sight. There is a computer room with 4 computers. There is a hair stylist/barber. The Comunity Room or bingo room or party room where we have parties on winter holidays with a kitchen, refrigerator, sink, a good size counter, dishwasher, 6 tables with 4 chairs each with wood floors. Adjoining this openspaced Community Room is a carpeted area with a Couch and a couple of chairs and a 4 or 5 foot screen TV, books & media. Across the hall from the Community Room is a smaller Multi-Purpose room maximum capacity of 41. This room also has a sink counters, wooden cabinetry and library with puzzles, games and books. Both rooms residents frequent playing cards, dominoes and a couple other games if that thrills you. If you want to exercise we have a gym with a 24\"TV to watch while you work out on 4 fairly expensive electronically equipped machines guaranteed to keep you buff if you dare !! Outside we have a Gazebo about 12 foot across. No smoking is allowed anywhere inside the building. Outside the 8 sliding glass doors of the front entrance is a cement porch with rocking chairs in the nice weather. The back entrance opens up to the parking lot... probably 35 or 40 cars. You can also park in front. Our Building and Gazebo take up a city block. There are cameras inside and outside almost everywhere running 24/7 and they come in handy. Contractors are hired to power wash the building, the lawn is cut, shrubbery trimmed, leave blowers and snow is plowed and walkways shoveled.Hallways are also vacumed. There are two elevators located near the center of the building and concrete stair ways on the both far ends to all 4 floors that you can also enter/exit with the only one electric key each resident is given which works on all entrances. Its nice to have a car living here but major stores are 5, 10, 15 or more minutes away. But locally a half mile walk gets you to our small 2 light town with a great Pizzeria Italian restaurant, mid-size grocery store with an excellent delicatessen, Wawa, Walgreens, Autozone, Harbor Dinner and more. Its safe to walk outside and we are in a small old town in the middle of farm country. I enjoy my life living here. The managers are the best and keep things copacetic and they know us all. more ... hide ...
