The apartments themselves are gorgeous and set at a perfectly reasonable price for the location. Many of them have different layouts and theres tons of spacebig closets, bathrooms, ceilings, and pantries with aut omatic lights. Perfect if you like the open space concept for a home. The energy-efficient amenities include a dishwasher, an in-unit washer/dryer two-in-one (wish it was slightly bigger), central heating and A/C, rooftop access, a basement common room, and a gym (limited equipment). There are multiple staircases, exits/entries, elevators, and a rampwhich is ideal for handicapped individuals (and easier for moving). A perfect home if you like the downtown Troy area, and walking distance to restaurants/bars, bus stops, farmers markets, etc.Parking is first come, first serve, which can be a little hectic on weekends, but theres usually space at the Browns parking lot. Since the apartment is so spacious, the heating and A/C can be very loud, as theres a duct that reaches around the unit. The trash room is a dark closet at the end of a hallway on each floor. Since theres no ventilation (its basically a closet), it often stinks and is often infested with bugs during the summer. Would be more efficient if they built a trash shute instead.The management was super friendly and understanding, however very unprofessional. They fail to answer their phones/voicemails and though their schedules are posted for tenants convenience, its unclear if theyre actually in office or not (property manager runs other MMS building in Cohoes). Email is the best way to contact them, but at times they often answer the next business day or a couple days afterwhich can be stressful if theres an immediate issue. They have lost numerous checks of mine (rent and security deposit) and at times, there was a blame game of who was responsible for the mistake (financial operations vs. property management). Maintenance can be hard to reach as well, as theres no direct number for them.When renting, be very sure to inquire on noise and neighbors. The building itself does have some brick walls, but other walls connecting to other units can be very thin. In my case, we often heard neighbors coughing, loud bass speakers, and sometimes a heavy smell of cigarette smoke)which theres a no smoking policy set in place. My roommate and I personally had a corner apartment. We didnt think the noise would be that bad, as we only had one next door neighbor, but we were wrong. Theres a quiet time rule also set in place, but not often followed by tenants.In all, management, neighbors, and some dysfunctions of the amenities were the reasons for the two-star rating, but in generala very beautiful place if you like the downtown Troy area.
