Wexford Ridge is a good distance from major shopping and local schools making walking and biking an ideal activity to save on fuel costs, or to just take a nice stroll around the block. Major bus lines are not too far fr om the neighborhood making public transportation easy to access. They have community events as a way to build bonds among the neighborhood, a small local police office, and daycare. The community center is also very close by which offers many activities, and programs for employment training.The building where I live has a moisture issue in the basement, which is where their onsite laundry is located, and nothing to keep the area dry, so mold, spiders, house centipedes, and silverfish are an issue. There is only one washing machine and one dryer for eight units, and I dont think they are ever cleaned or serviced. I highly recommend you take your laundry to one of the local landromats. Since these buildings were constructed before central air was a requirement to insure safety of residents, you may find yourself shelling out a couple hundred to a thousand buying your own to survive the summer heat. Some of the structures in the building are made with cheap material, clearly not built to last. Wide gaps in some doors, and unsealed cracks around windows and siding make keeping your home warm in winter difficult.Some of the maintenance staff seems under trained and work comes out not as great as it should. Some issues are ignored, and sometimes priorities in fixing issues dont seem all that high there. I also dont believe they spray the grounds anymore as a form of pest control. Another issue is staff turnover can be unpredictable. You may get staff that is willing to deal with problems, or staff that is dismissive.Neighbors can be hit or miss. Some allow their children to make unreasonable noises at odd times of night, and some neighbors are blasting their music at inappropriate times of night. Luckly there is quiet hours and you can report violaters. Fighting is a sure thing with warmer weather, and some with dogs do not pick up their mess, and there is a littering problem with adults and children alike dumping trash in halls and outside. The concept of recycling bins also seems to be too difficult for some residents to understand, but Im happy the neighborhood provides them. more ... hide ...

Nice, quiet, and well-maintained property. Maintenance is fast and responsive. They proactively maintain and upgrade the amenities on the grounds...new grills, patio furnishings, etc. Nice value for the money. Love the f act they now have access to a fiber internet connection! LP is a breath of fresh air from what I was used to renting other places.Heather, the on-site manager is great to deal with. Prompt replies and very attentive to tenants needs and requests.Despite what one other reviewer said, they are NOT responsible for shoveling your patio and state that up-front. They will do it as a courtesy, IF you remove your outdoor furniture first.This will be the first apartment I will be sad to leave, when we decide to move. more ... hide ...

I signed a section 42 tax credit lease (there were no market rate units left) in October when Ruxton first opened, but only lived there for 2 weeks because the landlord made me uncomfortable.I am a recent UWP graduate an d was excited to move into my first apartment, however living at Ruxton made me feel like I was living in the dorms all over again. I felt like I was always being watched. The landlord yells at you if you have guests over too much, or if you let people into the building. This place is perfect for families but if youre in your 20s and trying to live a social lifestyle she wont allow for it.Even though these apartments are section 42 they are still very expensive. Its been 5 months and I am still paying $726 in rent every month for a home I am not living in because they cannot find anyone else to qualify for the apartment, Unit 112.Its not at all what I thought it would be. I honestly feel like the landlord should have been more honest about the section 42 housing agreement rules as they were not clearly explained to me. I was unhappy there, so unhappy that I was willing to break my lease and give up a beautiful corner apartment just to get out. more ... hide ...
