My family and I have been living here for four years and we still have unresolved maintenance orders. Rent has gone down to a seemingly cheap $555, though we are having to pay out of pocket for necessary repairs that should be handled by the maintenance team. We've contacted Gateway multiple times, but they keep giving us excuses like they will get to it or they are short-staffed. When told about the mold issue, they simply said to use Clorox – which doesn't do anything to eliminate or prevent mold. As a result of these hazardous living conditions, we've reached out again but with no response. So, I'm following through with my promise and moving my family out according to the new Alabama tenant law due to how dangerous our living situation is; especially considering all of us suffer from various illnesses such as cancer in remission, Sarcoidosis, Lupus, seizures and asthma; all things that Gateway management is aware of.
