We've contacted Gateway multiple times, but they keep giving us excuses like they will get to it or they are short-staffed. When told about the mold issue, they simply said to use Clorox – which doesn't do anything to eliminate or prevent mold. As a result of these hazardous living conditions, we've reached out again but with no response. So, I'm following through with my promise and moving my family out according to the new Alabama tenant law due to how dangerous our living situation is; especially considering all of us suffer from various illnesses such as cancer in remission, Sarcoidosis, Lupus, seizures and asthma; all things that Gateway management is aware of. This complex is quite serene, populated mostly by older individuals. Hickory Run was recently remodeled in the last year, complete with modern amenities and updated HVAC systems. In addition, there are two separate sections to the apartments.

I don't recommend these apartments; instead, you should visit the Jacksonville Housing Authority. It's a similar setup, but with an added front and back yard, one and a half bathrooms, and no carpets.

The people here are friendly and respectful and they really know how to get the job done. I'm very fond of this place; the staff is amazing.

We put our stepson in an apartment and it worked out great. It was kept clean and had the added advantage of a separate laundry room to prevent any humidity issues, or the option to install a washer/dryer.
