I moved into my Chai House 2 apartment in late 2017, and it has now been rebranded as Redwood Seniors as of July 1st, 2021. I'm unsure why people are assigned ranks like silver, gold, and platinum, but this new one, RedwI moved into my Chai House 2 apartment in late 2017, and it has now been rebranded as Redwood Seniors as of July 1st, 2021. I'm unsure why people are assigned ranks like silver, gold, and platinum, but this new one, Redwood, is new to me. I presume the name is in reference to the majestic sequoia trees surrounding the complex, offering comfort and shade to the gardens in the rear.
Before the closure of Chai House, a meal program operated five nights a week, providing many seniors with social contact, and often their only interaction of the day. Despite the enjoyment of the program, many complained about the associated costs. With the closure of the program, this is now a moot point.
The ending of the Chai House era has been marked by the Coronavirus SARs2, which has taken its toll on many, including the person who served our food each night. I can't offer a full appraisal of the new management until I've had more experience with them.more ...hide ...
