I moved into my Chai House 2 apartment in late 2017, and it has now been rebranded as Redwood Seniors as of July 1st, 2021. I'm unsure why people are assigned ranks like silver, gold, and platinum, but this new one, Redwood, is new to me. I presume the name is in reference to the majestic sequoia trees surrounding the complex, offering comfort and shade to the gardens in the rear. Before the closure of Chai House, a meal program operated five nights a week, providing many seniors with social contact, and often their only interaction of the day. Despite the enjoyment of the program, many complained about the associated costs. With the closure of the program, this is now a moot point. The ending of the Chai House era has been marked by the Coronavirus SARs2, which has taken its toll on many, including the person who served our food each night. I have been living here for 5 12 years The managing company has put a lot of work and time into improving the appearance of Chai House and it shows Completely painted inside and out old carpeting was taken out and replaced with beautiful wood floors I have been living here for 5 12 years The managing company has put a lot of work and time into improving the appearance of Chai House and it shows Completely painted inside and out old carpeting was taken out and replaced with beautiful wood floors All new furniture in the lobby and hallways The staff is very friendly and the food program is excellent Great chef Don Apartments are spacious Small pets allowed Lots of activities including entertainment Best thing about Chai House is the feeling of family Everyone looks out for one another I cant say enough good things about this place One last thing I would not pay much attention to the 1 star reviews Some of these people never lived here and those that did were known by everyone to be chronic complainers and troublemakers Chai House is for seniors age 55 and people with disabilities It is considered to be affordable housing Given how expensive it is to live in Silicon Valley the rent here is very reasonable Best move I ever made more ... hide ...

Good affordable senior living facilities however you must also pay for the mandatory dinner program too
