At the end of December 2019, my mom moved into the Smathers Phase I building that was still being renovated then. She has asked the office mult At the end of December 2019, my mom moved into the Smathers Phase I building that was still being renovated then. There was a water leak from a pipe in one of the upper floors which caused damage to ceiling and flooring. She has asked the office multiple times to repair it but nothing has happened yet. Additionally, there have been problems with elevators too, with people even getting stuck inside multiple times. Recently, my 73-year-old mother had to carry her groceries up 9 flights of stairs as the elevator didn't work again. It's appalling that they're planning on increasing rent in November despite all these issues which put elderly residents' safety at risk. To bring awareness and help others make a right decision for their loved ones I'm sharing this experience along with pictures and dates proving these events occurred. If something isn't done soon enough, I'm writing to district commissioner and contacting local media as enough is enough now! more ... hide ...
