My cousin and I moved into the building in July of 2017 First impressions were that the inside of the building smelled completely of animal urine and our unit was not properly cleaned prior to us moving in Our washer inside the unit dishwasher and myMy cousin and I moved into the building in July of 2017 First impressions were that the inside of the building smelled completely of animal urine and our unit was not properly cleaned prior to us moving in Our washer inside the unit dishwasher and my bathroom sink immediately needed fixed and maintenance took care of it within a reasonably timely mannernnThings were going well within the first few monthsuntil it the cold time of the year approached and it was time to start using the heat At first our heat would run CONSTANTLY but would never reach a temperature above 69 degrees We brought this to the property managers attention but were told it was because the building was old and theres a lot of windows in our unit Two weeks pass by and our heat completely stops working and will not turn on It took a whole week before maintenence came to look at our system and we were told that they needed to order a new fan and that it wouldnt take more than a week or two We were given two small space heaters to use in the mean time When we tried to use the space heaters in our separate rooms at the same time it would blow a fuse so we hardly got to use themnA week goes by and they claim that the fan has not arrived yet Another week passes and still no information Our utility bill for November comes and it ridiculously high because of the space heaters The third and fourth weeks without heat roll around and still nothing Temperatures at night were absolutely freezing and having 36 huge windows in our bedrooms that leaked air was horrible I fell very ill with pneumonia but couldnt take more than 3 days off of work because of our high utility bills I am 19 years old just getting on my feet and this was really hard for me It took me 3 weeks to fully recover because I could never properly rest or even get warm inside of my apartment We were left without heat for 67 WEEKS before the fan was replacednWe thought this would resolve our issues with the heat completely but of course we were wrong The heat still ran constantly and we knew there had to be something else wrong but every time we brought it to our property managers attention we were never taken seriouslynThe warmer season approaches and its time to turn the air on our air again would run constantly and would never reach a temperature below 74 degrees We demand that HVAC comes and takes a look When they check it out we are informed that our heatair unit is HALF the size that it needs to be to warmcool our apartment So this means that the whole year we were living here we were paying more than necessary on our utility bills because of the buildings mistake How could they have gotten away with installing an air unit that is not big enough to warmcool the apartment sufficiently Our property manager never replaced the unit and for the last 3 months of our lease I saw him in his office maybe 2 times He never returned emails and our issue never got resolvednThe end of July comes and he finally gets ahold of me to do a walk through before I turn over the keys and move on He marks everything as clean and there was no damage done to the apartment He tells me that we will receive our 600 deposit check within 2 weeks It is now December 18th and I still have received NOTHING I have called multiple times a week for 5 months now and 9 times out of 10 nobody would answer or return my calls I recently spoke on the phone with whoever is now in the leasing office and I was informed that the old property manager was fired and they had no idea what to do for my situation They tell me to try and get in touch with the building owners at Cohen Esrey and my phone calls have yet to be returnednnI understand that this building is under new management now but I am just trying to inform others on my honest experience and bring attention to my unresolved issuesmore ...hide ...

Though there were some loud and strange neighbors, that is expected in any apartment building. Over the months, I began seeing less of the building manager and it took ages for minor problems to be solved. Recently, I changed my apartment to one on the ground floor in the same building and I have had a roach issue since July. Even if I had been untidy, I would not have encountered the same trouble on the third floor. When I am able to get a hold of the building manager, I get the same answer: "We are doing what we can to correct it, it might take a few weeks before you notice any advancements". However, those "couple of weeks" have turned into months and I no longer have the patience to cope with it. They are totally unprofessional and, judging by their response to my present problem, they do not worry about the upkeep of their building. I shall state that they did send an exterminator, but they only sprayed the first floor (there are four floors and a basement). It is a good place to live if your apartment is neat when you move in and it is not infested with roaches. Other than that, I have nothing else to say.more ...hide ...

The roaches are taking over. They dont want to get rid of them they just push them back for a little while. The cops do really like this place, theyre here almost every night. The management has no intent on working with you if your rent is going to be a little late they just stick a note in your door saying you have till a certain date to get it paid or leave the premises. There is so much i could put on here thats wrong with this place but i would be here all day/night.more ...hide ...

This place is terrible, it is not up to code in which is good, but thats like doing a deal with the devil. This place has 2 elevators in which keep breaking down. This place has 2 elevators in which keep breaking down. The neighbors do nothing but gossip on one another. When you move in here you lose your freedom of speech. This building has had several infestations. If you are a smoker this is your worst nightmare. The Windows need fixed but have not been fixed in a very long time. A lot of the people here are 2 of 3 things, they are either rude and racist, or rude and sexist, and that goes for both men and women in this building. The hall ceilings will leak when it rains. They will only fix your unit up to code when someone moves out, or before someone is moving in. The cops come here often and so do the paramedics. Most of the floors stink due to pet owners. The side walk needs fixed. In the summer they turn off your heater and in the winter they turn off your a.c. so that choice is not even yours to make. One of the tenants instigated an argument with me and I got wrote up for saying something back. This place is super religious so if you are not Christian then this place will be your worst nightmare. I caught my neighbor trying to listen in on my door. Most of the women in this building hate men and talk badly about men often. I have caught several tenants in this building doing illegal drugs.more ...hide ...

Hands down the worst experience I€™ve ever had with a apartment complex. I mean holy cow was this bad. I€™ve lived on Ingram mill and far north side and both of those places were better maintained and better managed Hands down the worst experience I€™ve ever had with a apartment complex. I mean holy cow was this bad. I€™ve lived on Ingram mill and far north side and both of those places were better maintained and better managed then BoonvilleLofts. If you have any self respect you will not move in here. Management is god awful. The one person they have running this place is completely clueless to everything that is going on, never in the office so when you do have a issue they are impossible to get a hold of. The maintenance number on the door is for the old maintenance worker who isn€™t even with Boonville anymore because he wisened up. When I called the number he had to personally call the new maintenance man so that I could get the things in my apartment fixed. On that note let€™s roll into what I needed fixed! For starters the door to my oven fell off about 4 months ago, after about month 3 they came out and €œfixed€ it. Not really it€™s already on the floor, literally less than 6 hours after maintenance left, it fell off. I€™m genuinely blown away, moving on. About the same time my oven door fell off my dishwasher stopped working and started over flowing onto my kitchen floor. After waiting for about 2 and half months for it to get €œfixed€ I ran it the same day they decided to fix it and guess what... still broken, over flowed again all over my kitchen. The lights in my room also don€™t work at all, like at all. So final review, this is the hardest review I could ever write because I want to name names and curse a lot because I am beyond mad at how I€™ve been treated here, but I don€™t know the property managers name because there have been 3 new ones in the year I€™ve been here. Absolutely hate it, cannot express enough how horrible this place is to rent. Have a nice day.more ...hide ...
