EDIT: THEY DESERVE A NEGATIVE 10 RATING! One of my best friends is a tenent here, and I want to add that they were literally one of the very first people to move in there when they were first built! Since then (8 years ago) there has been 5 different owners, and countless property managers. There has always been problems, which usually has been your regular issues that come up when living in an apartment complex. But the current staff & management now, are literally the most UNPROFESSIONAL people I have ever encountered! My friend has only been late on the rent ONE TIME in 8 years (which was paid within two weeks, plus the late fee) and this incident occurred with a different management. That being said, within the past 6 months (last half of 2020) it has just gotten ridiculous! My friends balcony glass door was broken 3 MONTHS AGO, which she reported to maintenance immediately. It took 3 months for maintenance to even come LOOK at it, at which point the maintenance man came in, took measurements, said he would be ordering the door from Lowes and would be back to put it in once it came. In the meantime, he proceeded to cover the broken glass with some ghetto cardboard and duck tape! You can literally feel the cold air just coming right through it! And the craziest part of it all, is that whenever they ask staff in the office when it is going to be fixed, they get a nasty, HORRIBLE attitude and act like they are in the wrong for inquiring about it? Then, on the day rent is due, they locked the doors to the office (while you can see the employees just sitting in the office)! They do have a drop box outside to drop the rent in, but with the high level of crime in the apartment complex, they do not feel comfortable putting the rent in there for fear someone may come and steal it out of the drop box (understandably). This incident occurred on a Friday, when Monday came they went to the office first thing to pay the rent again. This time, one of the staff proceeded to tell them they must now pay the late fee to which they replied that they attempted to pay it 3 separate times Friday but the doors were locked. Staffs response was that they were busy doing other things and that is what the drop box is for, to which they explained the reluctance of using it for fear of it being stolen. Staff responded by ssying that she agreed in her lease to put her rent in the drop box. Now I just have to say, that really threw me for a loop seeing that they had the nerve to reference the lease and the terms of the lease, whenever the most important thing in the entire lease (at least to the tenants) is the part where the management is responsible for fixing anything (except any personal items that the tenant has, of course) that needs repairing in the apartment! But yet, 3 months later, they STILL have a broken glass door to the balcony. The current staff is just unbelievably rude, and unprofessional. (I want to add that the property manager Gayle is an exception, my friend is actually quite relieved to finally have a good property manager) The fact that staff even attempts to give them a hard time about things they are obligated to fix, or do (like be available in the office on the ONE day of the month rent is due, or make sure a broken glass door is replaced immediately) speaks for itself! I am just blown away at the fact they would even give a tenant that has been there pretty much since the beginning, and always (with 1 exception) pays rent ON TIME, a hard time. What about the continuous drug dealers going in and out of apartments/buildings all day and night? Or the huge groups of teenagers that walk around the complex all hours of the day & night, openly smoking weed & drinking? Yeah, makes ALOT OF SENSE! No need to bother those people, just keep treating the actual good tenants that follow the rules & pay their rent like their a problem or a nuisance! Yeah, you dont need those kind of tenants to successfully run an apartment complex anyways, right?!
