I began my tour of the apartment complex and was informed that the pool was closed for the cooler months. This was a red flag to me since they determined when I could swim. The apartment they showed me was the classic unit and it looked outdated. If I chose to move into that apartment, any improvements would only be done after 10 years. If I got a remodeled unit, it would last me longer. The unit I saw was on the ground floor and didn't have any natural light. Carpet in the living room was a definite no for me. The kitchen cupboard had a piece of wood missing. The ceiling in the kitchen/dining area was extremely low. At my height of 6'2", there was only 5 inches of clearance. Everywhere else in the apartment had ceilings of 7-8 feet. After that I stopped paying attention because the kitchen was so out of date. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, I am now wary of apartment refrigerators after my experience at my old apartment.
