Affordable senior living with an A+ rating! St. Marys is situated in the middle of Amherst State Park, with gorgeous landscaping and well-maintained lawns. St. Marys is situated in the middle of Amherst State Park, with gorgeous landscaping and well-maintained lawns. It is income-based and incredibly reasonable for those with lower incomes. In order to live there, one must be 55+ and there is a variety of apartments from which to choose - studio, one or two bedrooms - all with lovely views and some with balconies, ideal for small gatherings and taking in the lovely weather. I have been a resident since April 2016, and it's been the best decision I have made since my husband passed away three years ago.
The occupants are friendly, and the community room is spacious and can be used for private functions [it boasts a full kitchen, as well as dishes, silverware and glassware for use]. Plus, there are two elevators on each floor for those who don't want to take the stairs, though the stairwells are wide with attractive wooden banisters.
The staff is equally lovely - the manager Pat always has a smile on her face and doesn't mind if people drop by during her workday. The maintenance duo, Mike and James, are always around to make sure everyone is content and will fix virtually anything. Mike is on-site all the time, for added convenience. All staff members have a pleasant and helpful demeanor.

I shopped around for apts and chose JFA as the best. Its very modern here and well maintained with good security. Walking distance to groceries, post office, doctors, pharmacies, plazas.
