After a lot of prayer, I received a call from Julie and it turned out to be an answer to my prayers. I don't think she realizes how much her kindness meant to me. We moved Dad in during July and although it was hard with the Covid situation, I cannot find any fault. Krystal was very helpful throughout. She is gentle and simple to converse with. Dad seems content and overall happy. I still call him multiple times a day and sometimes he doesn't hang up, so I also leave it off my end so I can shout out to him if he appears disoriented. Listening in, I have heard the aides come in with such affectionate voices, referring to him as "buddy" and one even said "love y'all" while leaving after preparing him and his roommate for bed. This really warms my heart. Of course, with any assisted living service, you are going to come across things you don't agree with or like, but I would still recommend The Glendale without a doubt. I must also point out that they have the BEST activities director, Jodi. She is gentle and excellent at her job! more ... hide ...

My mother resided there for two years and was given the best care possible. The nurses gave her medications punctually, and home health aides were there to meet her requirements on a daily basis. She relished the food there and if she needed help with eating, someone was always available. Linda Johnson, the director, consistently had staff meetings and was aware of all the information related to the people living there. Despite her demanding job, she was still able to stay on top of all her patients. How did I know this? I am an RN and visited my mom every day. Jodi, the activities director, had plenty of activities prepared, from the zoo to Manor House, luncheon dates, parks, and ice cream outings. She also took the initiative to go to stores for residents who could not go outside or didn't have anyone to help them. Before the pandemic, of course. Even after my mother's passing, I'm still connected to Glendale. As a nurse, I see residents regularly through the health care company I work for. Krystal, the new DON, is an excellent teacher and always exceeds expectations when communicating with both families and staff. When I enter Glendale, everyone greets me with a smile and a good morning, making my day.
