After man visits to my aunt who lives there and many complains about my concerns the place is still over run with roaches, the heat is so high a window must be left open all winter and it is still too hot. I applied for a family member who met the qualifications of being 55+ and having an income. After paying the fee, two years later I get a call that there were 8 apartments available and my relative's application was secoI applied for a family member who met the qualifications of being 55+ and having an income. After paying the fee, two years later I get a call that there were 8 apartments available and my relative's application was second on the list, but it was discarded because they didn't meet the new qualifications of 62+. All documentation given stated 55+, as did other housing agencies across the county. I contacted district and regional managers with no response and when I talked to property management they said current occupants younger than 62+ would have to move out. For two years I had been checking up on status, but never once mentioned any changes in requirements. It's not right that someone should wait so long only to be told no due to miscommunication from them in not passing along new info. I requested a refund for fees, but was refused; what kind of joke is this? Therefore, I'm reporting this situation to both county and state officials.more ...hide ...
