The gate to access the complex is frequently defective, so nobody knows who is entering and leaving. My mother's flat got robbed; it is unclear if it was done by a resident or an outsider since it is too easy to enter the building. Other inhabitants also informed her that their dwellings had been burgled when they initially moved in. The property manager is on maternity leave, so Erika Herrera is in charge for the moment and is incredibly impolite. Some of the neighbors pointed out to my mom where she lived so they could receive help for the broken window, but Erika said to her, "I'm not on the clock." Any person with decency would have helped in some way, but she is a disgraceful person and should not be in a position of power. My mom was told to leave a message on the apartment line and wait for them to act. My mother, a small 72 year old lady, feels unsafe in this place, so the earliest we get, she will be out of there. Do not live here!more ...hide ...

This is an awful place to live and I strongly advise against it. The office personnel are indifferent to car thefts and burglaries, and their attitude is terrible when one tries to address these matters. As a maintenanceThis is an awful place to live and I strongly advise against it. The office personnel are indifferent to car thefts and burglaries, and their attitude is terrible when one tries to address these matters. As a maintenance worker for GREYSTAR PROPERTIES, my air conditioning unit was not fixed for a week after it went out at Villa La Jolla. Cars are broken into on a daily basis and the office staff's response is to say that it's worse somewhere else, as if that would make anyone feel safer. Not only that, but the people working in the office display unprofessional behavior and act like they are from the hood. The 24/7 security simply walks around on their phone all day and never interferes with any crime taking place. The office staff also stated that the cameras are useless at night, so they can't identify license plate numbers. This has been the worst experience I have ever had with apartments. Do not go here - you will be treated like garbage, particularly by the manager. Please save yourself time and money and look elsewhere for a place to stay. These apartments are infested with roaches and bed bugs and should be avoided at all costs.more ...hide ...
