During that time, I had to endure: inadequate communication about payments and maintenance, no water, bugs, shootings in the vicinity, an inoperative garage door for most of my stay, and an unannounced switch to a new rent payment system. Moreover, when I decided to move out, they refused to let me use the freight elevator on the weekends to move large furniture, claiming it was only available during the week. As of now, I am still trying to retrieve my security deposit, which I haven't received after 60 days. When I asked them to send another check or let me pick it up, they told me to take it up with the postal service and stopped responding to my emails and calls. Legal action is being taken. To top it all off, on my move-out inspection day, which they had confirmed with me, no one showed up and I didn't get an explanation. I was hesitant to write a review, being my first apartment out of college, but this security deposit issue was the last straw. The prices are low, but I hope you have a better experience. My partner moved out two months ago, but he still hasn't received his security deposit back. Even worse, when we contacted the leasing office for help, we were met with zero assistance. During the six months he lived there, we experienced a lack of running water in the sinks or showers for thirty days. There were also large groups of people congregating right in front of the building day and night. What's more, there were rats, cockroaches, and a broken garage door (which could lead to visitors being towed away). And to top it all off, there was a shooting right outside the front door at 8:00 p.m. on a Thursday evening. The leasing staff also took weeks to respond to emails and never answered the phone.
