Nonetheless, Executive Director Greg Byrge is often unapproachable, off-putting and remote from the daily activities taking place on this floor. His lack of appreciation for the staff's hard work to ensure the wellbeing of the patients/residents is quite disturbing. He seldom visits to give thanks to the staff or even to inquire about the state of the residents. At this time, it is essential to remind ourselves that none of our efforts go unnoticed. The entire administration should take the time to connect with all of the departments - from housekeeping to dietary to the nursing department and especially to the nurses' aides - that work together to make the 'moving parts' run smoothly. This staff deserves a much-needed recognition and appreciation, and it is up to Greg to lead by example. A leader should not overlook the small details... if that does not seem too demanding a request.more ...hide ...
