Fortunately, a kind lady who worked there for a short while (and I think got fired for allowing us to break our lease) released us. At the time, I was six months pregnant and living with our infant son and husband in a horror show. People were breaking into the security system to let homeless people sleep inside, there were many drug users leaving needles in the lobby, where our toddler was crawling, smokers were being disregarded, our residence was twice flooded and we were not provided any remedy, so we had to sleep on our couch with our baby. They promised us an inspection for mold, though they never treated the ceilings, and my husband was sick for months, but they did not follow through and denied that they said they would, though I had the email with the date it was supposed to be finished. Our storage unit was broken into, and my husband was struck by a woman who also tried to burn him with her cigarette after he greeted her in the parking lot. They had informed us when we moved in that they kept the nails from the prior tenants so we wouldn't make extra holes, but still charged for nail removal on our move-out deposit, even though we didn't do it.
