My Mother lived there. Place is full of Bed Bugs and Roaches. I saw Roaches on the walls when I walked down the hallway during the day. When she died some things like her phone and watch disappeared. I had to make numero us calls, probably about 8 to get them to call me back. It is really sad that people have to live in these conditions. I think my Mom was afraid to complain because of retribution from Management. Too bad the Health Department wont do its job. more ... hide ...

So many beautiful memories at Hawthorne Northside. Amazing staff and location and great views depending on the unit you get. Not to mention lovely plaster walls if you get a non-renovated unit. You can really feel the hi story in these buildings and I get warmfuzzys when walking about the property and the adjacent neighborhood. We had such a great year living at Hawthorne however after a while we began to feel cramped due to lack of available storage, also the street noise from the nearby dispatch station got to be a little much. Other than that, this is a wonderful place to live and I will always recommend it! more ... hide ...

I have lived at the Retreat for a year now, and I am constantly struck by how great it is to be here. Today Im working from home, which means opening the windows and looking out on the mountains, walking over to the club house for free coffee and a warm chocolate chip cookie, and dipping my feet in the pool. The staff is sweet as can be, and the neighbors are great. Just last week they threw a party in the clubhouse for residents that consisted of an incredible dinner, beer and wine, live music by the pool, and a great view as the sun set over downtown. I often walk to shows at the Orange Peel or to yoga classes. We re-signed our lease months early because we love this place so much. I would definitely recommend moving here if you get the chance! more ... hide ...
