Upsides:1) We were able to sign the lease quickly and efficiently.2) The landlord, Denver, was super nice and helpful. He could be forgetful at times, but we never minded that at all. He helped with all of our maintenanc e needs really quickly, too. We had a microwave that had a broken handle and the couple days after notifying him, we had a brand new microwave installed.3) We were able to hang things up on the walls. I suggest using the sticker adhesive type instead of nails though. I heard a lot of people who had to pay part of their deposit to repaint the apartment because they used nails.4) After we lived there a year, we were able to rent monthly which made looking for a house to rent a lot easier and less stressful. We did have to pay a little extra monthly to do that, but we didnt mind.5) Pets are aloud with a deposit. I was looking for a cat for the longest time and was I grateful I had the option to look for one in the first place.6) The security there was the main reason I even considered this apartment. A lot of the bottom floor apartment residents just use the sliding doors as their front doors. The main building as a whole though has an intercom system, a front door thats locked at all times and the apartment itself has a deadlock. So youre given two keys plus your mail key for your apartment in total and I loved that, especially with a baby on the way. I needed that security.7) Its super close to a lot of recreation such as the football stadium, the high school softball field and Maytag park. It was just a short walk away and I loved that.8) A super friendly neighborhood. Theres a lot of apartments in town that are located in super sketchy spots, but this one had nothing like that. It had a very friendly neighborhood vibe.9) It does have garages you can rent alongside your normal rent so you can have extra storage on site if you needed it. I never did that, but it seems like an awesome feature.10) I dont know about yall but I loved the fact none of the neighbors talked to me. I lived there for a while and no one paid me any attention and as an introvert, it was great. If you like neighbors tho, this may not be your kind of place idk.Downsides:1) I lived under the stairs and had really noisy neighbors upstairs. The walls and floors are pretty thin in these apartments so if you have small children (which I have) that are light sleepers, Id either invest in a loud sound machine or not recommend this apartment. Forget having your TV louder than 6 too.2) I rented a two bedroom/ 1 bath and it was just the right size for 2 adults and a newborn, maybe even a little cramped. Anymore people and it would have been WAYYY too snug.3) In the summer, it gets super super hot in there because of the AC unit thats only connected to the living room portion of the apartment (we solved that issue with fans) and in the winter, all of our neighbors cranked up their heat so our apartment was always hot, but we just left the windows open from time to time to make it cooler.4) The parking lot was super cramped and the people who lived on the bottom floor never had any room to park at the bottom lot because of the rest of the residents taking those spots which ended up being super annoying because if I had a bunch of groceries, Id have to go down stairs to get to my apartment or walk down the hill to my sliding door while also pregnant. Super aggravating. That and the top lot is cramped and it would always take me at least 5-8 minutes just trying to back up my truck to go. Id honestly recommend a sticker system, so the bottom lot people can keep their bottom lot spots, but thats just me.All in all, a great experience and a great first choice if youre just moving out of your parents. more ...
