Ive been a tenant @ RVCHA since its inception in the mid/late sixties-- A LOT of people in the area ALWAYS seem to have something negative to say because its public housing in the pristine town of Rockville Centre-- Bu t you couldnt find a better community! Yes... Things have changed in the 50-some years Ive lived there. However, its still one of THE SAFEST areas around (no matter what others that DO NOT live there say). Im NOT thrilled that Section 8 has come into the confines (as it hasnt helped me a great deal with paying my monthly responsibilities--) However, my one bedroom would go for thousands of dollars more in the area-- and wouldnt be attainable in Brooklyn or Manhattan-- more ... hide ...

This building used to be the pride of the neighborhood.Not all but, a few moderately, renovated apartments. Otherwise, if you dont mind a fixer-upper but, I cant work miracles! This is Senior (and disabled housing for p ersons under 62-years-old), with a community of diverse ethnicities including many, non-english speaking Hispanics. Privately owned. They will accept a rental Subsidy.High traffic in common areas, pets allowed, poor building maintenance, monthly pest extermination, very noisy, smoking allowed, no ventilation throughout therefore, extremely, high maintenance for the tenant. Recent replacement of old washing machines.Exterior security cameras around the property, entrances and on every floor. Two hour parking in front of the building.24 hour On-site office staff. Intercoms.
