At the time when our contract expired, we were told that the only thing we had to do was submit our keys. This is what we did. We asked if there was anything else that we had to do and she replied with a no, that all we had to do was hand in our keys. Our last month's rent was taken from the security deposit. Later, I returned to request a form and nobody was in the office. When I turned around, I noticed an eviction paper on the entrance, even though we had already vacated and turned in our keys. How was it possible? I phoned the answering machine, and up until today, it is still registered on my credit score. Despite having receipts that prove it was paid in full, this apartment and the woman's guarantee that all we had to do was turn in the keys, is making it tough for me to find a new place to rent. When finally going to the other complex associated with them because our office was closed for unknown reasons, the leasing manager did not make eye contact with me and kept looking away and talking with another employee as if I were not a priority as a resident needing to get back into my home I pay them for each month. She had an attitude and was clearly not one for putting the resident first.
