The complications of the pandemic only served to make matters more difficult. Braemar required physicals and forms to be completed by a physician and their nurse administrator reviewed this information and held a Zoom meeting to evaluate my parents, ultimately deciding to let them enter. My mother needed a substantial amount of care due to her dementia and risk of falling, so her doctor was very explicit in detailing her needs and care requirements. Braemar said they could handle it. Dad was relatively autonomous. However, on the day we dropped them off, the nurse administrator and the admissions person were already talking about long-term care for Mom. Before they had even been there for a day! The emotional distress they caused is inexcusable. They called us almost every day to tell us how much care Mom needed, as if they hadn't read her physician's forms. By the second week, they sent her to the hospital due to dehydration and she was placed in a nursing home. Braemar was a terrible experience. Not even a social worker came to talk to any of us throughout the ordeal. My father watched as EMTs took my mother away and no one ever spoke to him! It was horrendous. Im a bus driver I just pick people up here but the place seems very nice and clean and the people love it here
