Her response was, "I have been letting it slide," referring to me parking in the same place for the past TWO YEARS! I am uncertain who thought she was appropriate for this position, but I am sure this will not be the last of the unfavorable reviews due to her bad communication skills. This could have been taken care of differently; maintaining a good community relationship should be essential. I will be informing the mayor of this issue and they will be hearing from my lawyer. It is depressing to see businesses bring down an entire area for apparently no cause at all! As a small business proprietor who has faced a lot of difficulty this year, the least I anticipate is respect. I do not know how tenants are treated in these apartments, but from my brief encounter I can tell that there is unprofessionalism, childish behavior, and retaliatory hostility involved. One woman was so discourteous; I am out of town and feeling overwhelmed due to not knowing what is happening with my elderly mother. All I wanted was for someone to do a wellbeing check. I was patient but the woman kept interrupting me when I asked to speak with a supervisor. She said no and then hung up after I tried to explain my situation. It is appalling that the Village of Bellwood would have people taking care of their seniors in such a manner in 2018, soon to be 2019. After eventually making contact with management, I provided the information and was told a manager would call me back, however, I have not received a call yet. It has been 48 hours and my mother could be dead. This is a tragedy on all levels. The answering service should demonstrate more empathy and consideration, and should attend a customer service class before taking calls.
