However, the bathroom, kitchen cabinets, drawers, stove, refrigerator, and carpeting had not been sufficiently cleaned to remove the dirt, grease, and grime of the previous tenant. Additionally, the range hood above the stove had peeling paint at the bottom and was missing the oven racks, thus making it impossible to cook our Thanksgiving Dinner. We eventually got a new range hood and the right oven racks after two attempts. Upon inspection, a few dead bugs were discovered in the entryway light globe, and the maintenance man removed and cleaned it before replacing it. Unsatisfied with the carpeting, I pointed out the stains, and the maintenance man spot cleaned it; however, I believe it is harboring a biting bug, and the bedroom carpeting emitted a faint odor of mold. My husband presented a move in report to the landlord, requesting the maintenance issues be fixed and the carpeting be replaced or cleaned, but they claimed it was my responsibility to have the carpet cleaned and they had already done so and recently replaced it.
