The maintenance staff is not properly trained in building maintenance or repairs. The town of Salina codes person is also not responsive or helpful. Instead of doing his job in getting the property owners to fix things properly he wants to just say oh well they \" maintenance\"; didnt know the furnace wasnt working properly, and says he will just condemn the place.. My son and his one year old daughter were exposed to carbon monoxide fumes and the entire building had to be evacuated. My son warned management early in the day his detector had gone off and that the one for the town house next door had been going off the previous evening. Management blamed it on bad batteries.Travis who gives a great review of the place is one of the individuals who was evacuated and per his own words to me, had to sleep in his truck that night. He is also one of the maintenance staff. I sat in my sons apartment for 4 1/2 days while Travis and another individual were replacing a furnace etc. Listening to them curse at the small space to work in the new furnace being shorter than the previous one and sticking out more so that it couldnt be pushed into the space provided all the way.The shield wasnt put back on and the blower in the furnace kept blowing out cold air and putting out the pilot lights in the oven which cause gas fumes to permeate the entire townhouse. Its a week later and getting colder and the furnace still isnt working and maintenance and management want to lie to codes etc and say my son never reported it. I am a witness to the phone calls he made and trips to the main office. I am also a witness to management never returning my calls or picking up when the National Grid inspector tried to reach them. Plus I asked how long to replace the furnace and was told one to two hours. Try 4 days and its still not right. Maintenance staff is quite clearly not properly trained, much less given the right equipment to use. This is not the only incident there. Two weeks prior the basement flooded with sewage etc. A few months ago the neighbors water pipe was flooding my sons kitchen ceiling over his oven area. Nothing has been properly fixed. My advice is, dont move there. Two weeks later. Furnace still not working properly. Getting colder out. Family member has been forced to use portable heaters to try to keep warm for himself and his daughter.more ...hide ...
