If you don't stay in contact after moving out, they will keep your security deposit and shun any attempts of contact despite having your contact information and address. They have the nerve to hold onto part of your deposit for trivial matters that are supposed to be taken care of after a tenant leaves. We were charged $80 for a shelf that wasn't even there when we moved in, and $90 for cleaning the carpets when the only spot needing spot removal was a small area in the living room. Make sure to keep your lease with you when dealing with the leasing office, as they don't even follow their own regulations. They entered our apartment without warning, but when I called the office about it, I was told it was in the lease. Thankfully I had the lease on me and was able to point out to the personnel that it said maintenance must provide notice. They are not compliant with their own rules, the police often visit the same apartments, and 75% of the inhabitants own dogs, even though the lease explicitly states that only service animals are allowed. more ... hide ...
