I changed my address to Horizon Steele Creek in November 2021, and I was incredibly pleased with Melody and Katherine in the office. The apartment was nice, and I was content living here - until this morning at 3am when I heard multiple gunshots. After speaking to a police officer, I was informed that there had been a shooting in the car park of the building across from mine. Apparently, there were two groups shooting at each other, one person was sent to the hospital and another died. The police cars lined up to the entrance of the community, which is quite shameful and unacceptable. The gate at the entrance never works, which has been the case for the past month. This needs to be fixed as soon as possible. While there is a courtesy officer, something needs to be done after this incident, such as having a police officer present throughout the day and night. I'm terrified that someone might have been hurt by the flying bullets, so I expect that something will be done about this soon. Evidently, this complex has had its fair share of violent issues, which need to be stopped for good. The management should make this a priority, and I will be keeping an eye out. Paying an expensive fee of $1800+ for an unsafe environment is simply not acceptable. I'm sure I'm not the only one who will be considering terminating my lease. At this point, I'm feeling very uneasy. Until these issues are resolved for good, I would not recommend anyone leasing more ... hide ...
