My mom decided to move here years ago and she lived in an apartment until we had to move her to Clarks Terrace assisted living on the 2nd floor She selected Park Danforth just in case she needed AL Good idea mom This is one of many reasons to select My mom decided to move here years ago and she lived in an apartment until we had to move her to Clarks Terrace assisted living on the 2nd floor She selected Park Danforth just in case she needed AL Good idea mom This is one of many reasons to select PD The other reasons include the residents who are wonderful and make great table mates at dinner each night the accommodations the apartments are well designed and easy to furnish and navigate the overall facility is well maintained and the common areas are comfortable for socializing or just reading the paper the social offerings local shopping trips onsite movies and games and holiday family dinner and most importantly the staff there is low turnover they are like family to my mom they are knowledgeable well trained informative and caring even the chef knows my moms name Ive spent many many hours vising my mom and her friends at PD This was our last month at PD and I will miss the staff and residents Thank you Park Danforth you are an important part of my familys story Cheers more ... hide ...

Edit Rental Inquiry Greetings. I'm a 64 year old single male, with 6 year old adopted domestic shorthair male tabby cat, neutered, who also came with front claws removed. He is indoor, and cat litter trained. I live alone, and I'm seeking a one-bedroom apartment to rent. Portland, near public transportation, or close proximity to downtown Brunswick would be ideal, as I am car-free and need access to public transportation. I�m interested in a year lease, and most likely would stay longer, as my renting history would indicate. Section 8 has approved me for a one-bedroom unit. Stairs would be okay, elevator would be ideal. I�d prefer not to be on the ground floor. I prefer a quiet, corner unit away from traffic, noisy children, and troublesome neighbors. A sunny apartment and one with a deck or balcony would be sweet. Storage is always a plus. If I stay in Portland, Westbrook Housing Authority will manage my Section 8, and the maximum they will pay for a one-bedroom including utilities is $1,265-/month, less if I have to cover utilities myself. If Brunswick, the maximum may be slightly lower, and Section 8 would be managed by Brunswick Housing Authority. My portion of this is 30- 40% of my income. I�ve held a Section 8 HCV since December, 2018, and it has no expiration date. Deposit might be covered by HUD when proper forms are completed. If not, I would either pay out-of-pocket or I might qualify for full or partial deposit assistance through another local agency that provides services to me. Please note that my current Credit Score is approximately 810. During my 30 years in Maine, all of them in Portland, I've rented at 3 addresses. The first was a "transition apartment" for 15 months after relocating here from Boston, in 1992. The second was for 22 years (two different units in the same private home; two different sets of landlords)... I moved when the last owners sold the house, in late October, 2015. The third apartment is my current one, starting in November, 2015. As a tenant, I am quiet and respectful of others. I have never been late on rent and I keep a well-appointed, clean, uncluttered apartment: it is my sanctuary. I am friendly, but I also respect privacy. I am told that I�m a good neighbor and tenant to have, as my references should attest to. I am college-educated, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in 1981, in psychology. I worked for 50 years in many capacities, including 30 years as a mental health professional, 8 years as a commercial driver, and 5 years as a tour guide. In 2020 I took early Social Security retirement and stopped working. My retirement income is $17.064 annually, and I will collect a small pension from a former employer when I turn 65. My hobbies include freelance writing, photography, music, theater, travel, and outdoor activities. I have many solid friendships, some which go back to the 1960�s: I consider my friends my family. I maintain a good connection with my biological family as well, most of whom live in N.H. and Massachusetts. This building in Portland's West End where I've been living since 2015 just got purchased on 2/15/22 by a property management company after being in private landlord hands for 41 years. 44 tenants are being forced out through high rent increases, eviction, extra fees, changes in "building culture�, and other new requirements. So... I am looking to move. I need to be in a new apartment by May 1, 2022, or June 1 at the latest. I could move in during April if a unit was available prior to May 1, and I would pay the prorated amount out-of-pocket, or with agency assistance, in order to move in early. The same would be true for an earlier May move-in, if first full month was June. I hope you will consider me as a tenant, and I attest that all of the above description is true and accurate.
