Later, I discovered my ex-father in law works for the Property Owner located in St. Joseph Michigan. My ex-father in law and I are not on good terms, as his wife and him have guardianship of my daughter without any intention to give her back. Even though I have visitation rights, there is more coming soon. I am sharing this to tell that after I applied for the apartment, my ex-husband (not his son) spread some false rumors about me supposedly writing on the application form. Fortunately, I had saved a copy which proved his words wrong. Both my husband and father in law are now quite friendly with each other which gave him access to this information easily. According to HUD, if denied then I should appeal it since my situation has changed significantly since then as the felony isn't violent or against minors/children; it was an internal family issue only. I still want to live there as many people know me already who have lived there before too; rent is reasonable plus kids would love it! So, now the only thing left is to call the office again but if time has passed then maybe contact HUD? Any ideas? more ...
