At the outset, these apartments are miles away from downtown Prescott. Initially, I was informed that one person was ahead of me for an apartment, so I assumed I was on a waiting list. Initially, I was informed that one person was ahead of me for an apartment, so I assumed I was on a waiting list. However, later I was advised to "save this number because if I call and you don't answer, I will give it to the next person. There is no real list, just whoever replies first." Desiring an apartment right away, I stored the number and waited. Nothing happened. After four months of waiting, paying for the application fee, and putting down a holding deposit (which was supposed to elevate me to the top of the "list" for an apartment), I had not heard of anything. I coincidentally work closely with families of students at Embry Riddle and found out from many parents that these apartments are connected to the school. No wonder why I had been waiting, they want to prioritize students! My $100 holding fee was refunded quickly, yet the negative impact on my credit score is there for two years and there is nothing I can do about it. This is a deceitful practice, not an honest business. It is disgraceful for these people to take money away from local people with no intention of ever leasing to them! more ... hide ...
