We strongly advise that you DO NOT move a vulnerable family member to Oklahoma Christian Apartments. About a year ago, we decided to move our then 88-year-old mother to this place. Initially, it was as advertised-friendly people, newly renovated apartments with enough room for her to live. However, it soon began to feel more like a reform school (even before Covid-19 struck). The formerly cordial staff became overly impolite to her; there were frequent punishments for the slightest, hitherto unknown, transgressions. As you can imagine, this kind of treatment was very disconcerting to her. Our mother's (and ours) goal of moving there was for her to spend her remaining years in harmony and serenity surrounded by people of her age. We hated for her to move, it is traumatic for a person of her age to have to pack everything up and find a new home-even if it's with relatives. Yet, after many months of continuous - unresolved - issues, we felt we had no other choice. We strongly encourage you not to move yourself or a loved one to this facility. more ...
