Even though you live there, they will still tow away your car. They have an apparently lucrative arrangement with Capital Towing to take away vehicles registered with the apartment. Last night, my daughter moved in and this morning, when she woke up, her car was gone. After calling the police, it was confirmed that it was towed. When we went to the office, the lady said to get it back, we'd have to pay up to $300 and show a sticker on the car. But my daughter had only just moved in and hadn't had a chance to put one on yet. The lady said there was nothing she could do, citing policy. She gave us a card for the towing company, only to find out they only communicate via email - no phone number! We have emailed them multiple times with no response. The police told us to take it to small claims court because this is a common occurrence at this complex. It's wrong that they are allowed to take your car when you live there! more ...
