I have resided here for longer than anyone has ever, and moved in before 2 bedrooms were even finished 14-15 years ago. The building promised to give us the first selection of 2 bedrooms, however, this did not occur due to the chaotic management. It does possess a few redeeming qualities; however, there are reasons why one should be wary when considering moving here: wifi is only available until the 3rd floor; rent may increase even if they claim it will remain constant; amenities such as a lounge, theater room, computer lab and fitness room are cut off from residents due to supposed COVID-19 regulations but this appears to be used as punishment for those who are late on rent or behind on payments despite them claiming they are pro housing justice; access to a printer is also denied which is hindering residents from paying their bills on time since management does not respond quickly enough. There is more I could say about this place but its convenient location somewhat justifies the issues that come with living here. If these things don't improve by the end of 2022 then I cannot honestly say it deserves 5 stars because of crime that occurs within the building. more ... hide ...

Living in The Commerce Building since May 2015, I have had to endure a second bed bug treatment, after getting them from my neighbor who had them for months without telling anyone. This all began in April 2016 and I pay $870 per month for rent. This all began in April 2016 and I pay $870 per month for rent. Despite this, many issues remain unresolved such as the marijuana being bought and sold throughout the building (with other drugs allegedly also present) and homeless people still managing to get inside. The police are called daily, there have been four fires started by individuals angry with CommonBond Properties, and it is strongly advised not to be "sucked in" by the cute apartments with their great view - the pain one endures here is not worth it. more ... hide ...

I lived here for 2 years from 20112013 and I loved it At first there was the issue of the homeless people around downtown roaming the streets only because theres a shelter a few blocks away But its right across the street from the police and manageme I lived here for 2 years from 20112013 and I loved it At first there was the issue of the homeless people around downtown roaming the streets only because theres a shelter a few blocks away But its right across the street from the police and management worked very closely with them to rid any loiters And after a month or two there werent really any shady characters around there Occasionally yeah but you live in downtown itll happen The actual units are beautiful especially the floor Our unit was perfect and felt large even being a one bedroom loft style unit Couldnt hear neighbors The elevators occasionally was down just 1 out of the 2 But these are just general issues that no way are reasons to stay away from this place Parking was across the street which kind of sucked during events down the street hockey fans in particular made it suck But the only aggravations were general things that arent avoidable from living in downtown The location was awesome The units were great Management was by far the best Ive ever encountered I even made them er her Lorie cookies on several occasions If I ever move back to Minnesota the first place I look for will for sure be the commerce building And when I moved out I admit I didnt leave the unit as clean as I could have because I was in a rush but I got back the majority of my deposit Which was a surprise because I was expecting none of it to be returned because of how I left the place What else no annoying kids running around Yes its income based which is awesome I think Its secure above a Subway and across the street of an Erbert and Gerberts Only two things could have made it perfect 1 a washer and dryer in unit and a dishwasher Other than that my wife and I loved our experience there These other reviews must have been from prior to when management started working with the local police who now do regular patrols at least twice an hour to ensure the safety of the tenants and it was night and day difference compared to before they started doing that more ... hide ...
