09/18/20 If the owners really cared they would have made the the complex ADA compliant.09/16/20 Restriping of Parking lines has yet to happen. Thus the property remains NON-ADA Compliant with no interest in being compliant from Griffis Blessings who is the property owner. There are 5 employees 2 in the office the rest are maintenance.OFFICEIt is much better than when I first moved in, but there is still room for improvement. At times there is no one in the office available to receive packages from USPS, UPS, FEDEX, & Amazon. The other problem it is problematic it getting them to answer the phone. In rating of the office staff I would rate them at 2 starsMAINTENANCEFrom my perspective Tim & Cody are very helpful in meeting my disability needs & very prompt in resolving maintenance issues but at times the are hamstrung by the corporate office, Griffis Blessings, who have no interest in upkeep of the property. In rating of the maintenance staff I would rate them at 4 stars. They make a strong effort in keeping the residents happy. The property owners concern for renters well being I would rate them at a -20 stars. And based on the property owners treat its residents I would strongly discourage anyone from renting here who is disabled. You might be asking why do I stay here the answer is simple, when I first moved here I told myself that my next move would be into a house that I would be purchasing a home & anything less than that is only delaying me buy a home.01/01/20 Parking on the apartment complex is very limited & comes as a first come in finding a parking spot. There are numerous Handicapped parking and some of them will be removed. In April sometime they will be repainting all of the parking spots because the spacing around Handicapped Parking Spaces has very specific measurements that must be adhered to. In addition they are supposed to install wheel stops to prevent any vehicle from entering a space on the sidewalk were a Handicapped Individuals can safely walk on. In one spot on the property they have yet to install a Handicapped Ramp & to connect two sidewalks together, which is where the ramp needs to be installed.9/11/2017 When it comes to handling issues you might have with your neighbors the Village at North Hills & the management company, Griffin Blessing, will not help you in any fashion. They do not want to be a responsible management company nor do they care about its tenants. They just want your money & shirk all the responsibility of being a good management company. They will blatantly ignore federal; state; & municipal law. A few weeks ago I had a new neighbor move in above me. Foolish me, I though I was going to have a nice quite neighbor but the very next day after him moving in his dog started barking non stop. I called the complex office & Melanie Gomezs responce said \"not are problem call the cops.\"I wrote a fair review of this place. My review was very detailed in nature. It rubbed a portion of the staff here the wrong way & in a meeting one of them I quote \"I beg you to please take it down\"Being that I live here still I decided to take it down. There are fire doors that dont seal shut when you close them. This property has a key fob system that has serious issues that need to be addressed. The police can not getting in. The morning on 8/21/17 the fire alarm went off & the system operated as normal but what should have happened was the magnetic locks should have released until the system was restored. When this system was being installed I asked was the system tested to make sure it works correctly, I was told that it was. Every complaint about the system went on headed that could have some seriously go wrong. The owners responce is a joke. They were surprised when I came to discuss my review and it was not the owners but Melanie & Tim. The result of the meeting was it was a complete waste of my time. Melanie was just as argumentative as she alwas is. My guess is that she is insecure and cant handle criticism based on how she reacts.

Just moved into our apartment about a week ago and I LOVE it here!! Carmen, Kevin, and Chris were all fantastic! Carmen gave us a tour of our apartment, Kevin helped us out moving our move in date out when a family emergency came up, and Chris assisted us on move in day. They all did fantastic and made sure we were happy before and after signing our lease. Our apartment was cleaned and ready for us with gorgeous renovations, all new appliances, carpet, washer and dryer. It is so quiet at night and we sleep peacefully. Our neighbors are all very nice and welcoming. It€™s pretty safe to say highland way will be our new home for years to come! Thanks again everyone!

WARNING! LONG & DETAILED! Lived here for a year lease (2012 into 2013) in 1bdPros: Cleanliness of property as a whole so its comfortable to walk around the complex with pride. They make sure everyone is doing their part for the community.Cons: Theyre very uppity so even if youre not responsible-to be fair everyone receives notice if someone is letting their dog defecate without proper disposal. The notices become annoying. Also, its not really your porch because they constantly check it to see if youre following regulations of what is allowed on your porch. To me, it felt like I was being interrogated for temporarily putting recyclables there for 1 day until I could take it to a center after work.Pros: The floorplan/set up is great. Properly spaced & accurate to descriptions on website.Cons: If you prefer not to have people see your bedroom another location is best because the bathroom is attached to bedroom instead of main living area. I did not mind this however.Pros: For the most part, all utilities (I did not rent W/D units) are updated. Never had a problem with stove, microwave, fridge or garbage disposal.Cons: The heater went out twice during the fall. AC went out onceManagement: When I first moved in (Summer 2012) Mary Beth was the manager, and although she worked with me she had a terrible attitude about it. Later in the year Tim became manager. He is excellent at addressing issues, considerate, & attentive.Rent: As another reviewer put it-rent can be deceiving. Clear all questions about charges (water, garbage disposal, CUBS mgmt. fee, etc.) & look over paperwork carefully. When I signed I was under the intention of my rent as a whole. After 2 months I became aware of an extra $50 in addition to my rent.Maintenance Pros: Kept sidewalks & stairs shoveled during winterMaintenance Cons: Very displeased with the service. Things have gone missing. Throughout my stay multiple requests are made for just one service due to half-a$$ fixes or no fixes at all. To get anything done, you have to contact the manager. During winter, they pour rock gravel & it gets stuck in your shoes & trails into your apartment.General Appearance: Aside normal wear & tear, apartment was fine. Though I would have preferred brand new carpet when I moved in, instead it was just cleaned. My father is an approved inspector so I lucked out in the beginning of what I was not going to be responsible for in the end.Resources: I never used the gym or laundry access. The pool & hot tub were always clean. Parking was plentiful (though I was told it might be minimal by the staff when I leased) however the building I was in was on Northeast side. Security dispatch is not helpful. After bringing this matter up with the manager, better service is up & coming to my understanding.Surroundings: The field & park nearby is terrific for nice walks. Great neighborhoods & views.Other: Community is suggestive & active. Staff is friendly. Resident appreciation. Pipe burst in Fall, causing flooding & damage in apartment & addl apartments. Cheap piping material was used. No compensation for inconvenience of repair process.**I would have renewed my lease, however they wanted WAY too much for what the unit offers. You could get a luxury apt/condo or even a house for the price theyre asking. *UPDATE SEPT. 2013* I have received the Final Account Statement. 1st time it came blank in my email, I should have left it at that. Responsibly, I called & requested a new one. They sent me a charge of $200!!! All the fees are not worth it! I had to call the Regional Denver Office for validation/verification for my statement. Their office contacted the property & got back to me with a solution thankfully. However, the hassle is very disconcerting.

The good: nice (small) gym, pool, shaded neighborhood, dog park. Alex and Cassie in the office are great to work with! Decent sized parking lots where you can park for free. The bad: we had an ongoing issue for MONTHS about second hand smoke in our apartment. (This is a completely smoke free place). Smoke from our neighbors made our apartment, furniture, and clothes smell horribly. The issue was resolved after reaching out to the staff multiple times.-The apartment walls are crazy thin and you can hear absolutely everything from your neighbors especially if you have upstairs neighbors. It€™s so loud it keeps us up all night, same with dogs barking in the unit besides us.-The dog park is decent sized and fairly clean but other tenants seem to abuse it. From 5-9pm every night there is a huge group of people and their dogs in the park. There are too many dogs in such a small space that there are many dog fights. I tried to take my pup over there one time and another dog fought my dog which ended in me needing stitches, tetanus shot, and multiple doctor visits for infection in my leg.-Sprinkler systems are necessary sometimes but not every where on the property. My apartment is completely in the shade and we have zero grass. The sprinklers are on so frequently it makes it a huge muddy mess in our front yard and on the walkway. You also have to walk through a sprinkler to get inside. (May not be the case with all units but my building is like that).-The property management just changed so they are making us pay our rent in checks instead of the set up online payment. They don€™t provide a Dropbox for the checks outside of the office and the hours are 9-5 so good luck paying your rent if you work during those hours! Hopefully things will change but it doesn€™t seem that way anytime soon.
