This referral period runs from June 8, 2020, until June 8, 2030.
NYCHA is currently accepting referrals solely from the New York City Administration for Children’s Services (ACS) for individuals participating in the Family Unification Program (FUP) Youth. These referrals are for FUP Youth whose Section 8 assistance is expiring due to the 36-month time limit on their voucher without securing suitable housing. Eligibility for regular HCV assistance is contingent on several factors, including the imminent expiration of FUP Youth Section 8 assistance and the risk of homelessness.
To apply during this referral period, applicants must be referred by ACS, and there are preferences in place, although they are not specified in the article. The selection process for this waiting list is based on the date and time of application receipt, with priority given to applicants with specific preferences.
